The Intensive Therapy Program combines innovative therapy
technology and consecutive daily sessions over a short
period of time to achieve goals and milestones that would
ordinarily take months to achieve using traditional physical
therapy techniques. Next Step is one of the only pediatric
physical therapy centers to offer this program to children
2 and 3 years old.
The Intensive Program offers children an opportunity
to devote the time necessary to overcome their physical
limitations and arrive at new levels of independence.
The principles underlying the Intensive Program are focus
on the individual child’s needs, allowance for repetition
and practice, and integration of their newly attained
skills into functional activities in a compressed time
frame.
The program takes place over three weeks and varies from
2 to 4 hours a day, Monday through Friday, depending on
the child’s needs.
Each program begins with a thorough evaluation to establish
a level of performance. After analyzing the results of
the evaluation, our team will develop a treatment plan
and set realistic goals for the sessions. Our unique program
is managed by highly skilled therapists using direct handling
and sophisticated technology to further
enhance each child’s ability.
